S'pore richest horse race put into world series
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Airlines International Cup, the richest horse race in the city-state, is to be part of the World Series Racing Championship next year.
Inclusion in the prestigious world series will put the three- million Singapore dollar (US$1.64 million) event along the likes of events such as the Arlington Million in the United States and Japan Cup in Tokyo.
"We are delighted. This shows that Singapore horse racing has achieved international recognition," said Yu Pang Fey, chief executive of the Singapore Turf Club Monday. The event will take place in May next year. --AFP
