S'pore, RI hold joint aviation exercise
SINGAPORE: Singapore and Indonesian search and rescue agencies
held a one-day exercise on Wednesday aimed at boosting bilateral
cooperation, authorities said.
The exercise was aimed at testing the readiness of the two
countries in "responding jointly to an aircraft in distress," the
Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said in a statement.
Codenamed Sarex Indopura XX/2002, the exercise was staged 130
kilometers (80 miles) west of Singapore and more than 100
personnel took part.
The Singapore Air Force, Singapore Navy, the Indonesian Navy
and Indonesian Coast Guard took part in the drill. --AFP
