S'pore manufacturing output up 22%
SINGAPORE: Singapore manufacturers produced 22.2 percent more goods in April compared with a year earlier, the government said on Wednesday.
Excluding output from the biomedical sector, Singapore's industrial production rose 12.9 percent in April from the same month a year ago. In March, Industrial output rose 10.3 percent on year, the Economic Development Board said in a statement.
The biomedical manufacturing sector grew 89.8 percent in April due to a surge in pharmaceuticals, the board said.
The industrial production index measures manufacturing output by volume rather than value. -- AP
