SINGAPORE (DPA): A developing country training program offering 100 fellowships was launched on Monday by the Singapore government and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Under the memorandum of understanding signed by Assad Kotaite, president of the ICAO Council, and Yeo Cheow Tong, Singapore's minister for communications and information technology, the courses to be taught include safety, oversight, air traffic services and civil aviation management.
The pact "reaffirms the commitment of both Singapore and ICAO in promoting the safety, efficiency and regularity of international civil aviation through continuous training of aviation personnel," said Yeo.
The ICAO will be responsible for administering the (program and recommending relevant experts. The Singapore Aviation Academy, the training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, will conduct the courses.
