SINGAPORE (AFP): Singapore trade officials will lead local
companies on visits to Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand to
explore business opportunities, a statement said Thursday.
The separate visits to the three countries led by the Trade
Development Board (TDB) are aimed at helping local companies tap
opportunities arising from the regional economic recovery, said
Khong Mun Pew, the TDB's director of international operations.
"The economies are well on the road to recovery and we see
renewed confidence and business interest in the region, which is
a good sign," Khong said.
A four-day visit to Indonesia from May 8 will identify extra
sources of vegetable imports from Jakarta and Bandung.
In the Philippines, the TDB will introduce local companies to
businesses in the central provinces.
In Thailand, the board will focus primarily on the industrial
automation sector during its four-day visit from May 7.
