SINGAPORE (AP): A Singapore Airlines plane bound for Singapore
from India made an unscheduled stop in Malaysia due to a possible
engine problem, the airline said on Wednesday.
Flight SQ407, en route to Singapore from Delhi, with 270
passengers and 14 crew members aboard, made an unscheduled stop
at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, it said in a
statement.
After the Boeing 777 landed safely, the passengers were
transferred to another plane for the hourlong flight from Kuala
Lumpur to Singapore on Tuesday. A Singapore Airlines spokesman
said the plane returned to Singapore.
Meanwhile, another Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 carrying 293
people landed safely in Manila on Wednesday after its pilot asked
for landing assistance because of a deflated tire, air transport
officials said.
