Spokesperson Reveals Meaning of Anies's Meetings with SBY-AHY to Prabowo's Son Didit

Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan met with Indonesia’s sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), as well as Didit Hediprasetyo, son of President Prabowo Subianto, during the Eid al-Fitr festivities. Anies’s spokesperson, Sahrin Hamid, revealed the significance of these encounters.

“We view Mas Anies’s meeting with Pak SBY and Mas AHY in Cikeas during the Eid al-Fitr halal bihalal as something positive. This is a noble tradition of our nation—silaturahmi, mutual forgiveness during the Lebaran moment,” Sahrin told reporters on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Sahrin acknowledged that in politics, meetings between figures can give rise to meanings and interpretations. Nevertheless, he regarded Anies’s meeting with SBY and AHY as part of silaturahmi.

“We also understand that in politics, every meeting certainly carries meaning and provokes interpretations. However, the aforementioned meeting should be interpreted as a moment of Lebaran silaturahmi among national figures,” he stated.

He then touched on the moment when Anies and his family took a photo with Didit Prabowo. Sahrin said Lebaran brings an atmosphere of mutual forgiveness for everyone.

“Likewise, when Mas Anies and his family took a photo with Mas Didit, son of President Prabowo. Indeed, the moment is for silaturahmi, celebrating Lebaran, and mutual forgiveness,” he explained.

It is known that Anies attended the halal bihalal event at SBY’s residence in the Cikeas area, Bogor, West Java, during the Lebaran moment. In that silaturahmi, Anies, SBY, and AHY were seen conversing, as recorded in a post on the Instagram account of Democratic Party cadre Merry Riana, on Sunday (22/3).

Additionally, Anies was documented in one moment with President Prabowo Subianto’s son, Didit Hediprasetyo. That moment was shared by Didit along with several figures during the Lebaran celebration.
