The South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot Tangsel), through the Education and Culture Department (Dikbud), is continuing to finalise the implementation of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Preparations are being carried out comprehensively, from drafting technical guidelines (juknis), strengthening the digital registration system, to providing complaint channels.

Head of the South Tangerang City Education and Culture Department, Deden Deni, stated that various preparation stages have been undertaken, including coordination across regional agencies.

“Preparations have been carried out comprehensively, starting from drafting juknis, proposing class groups, SPMB socialisation both online and offline, to coordination with the Communication and Informatics Department, Population and Civil Registration Department, and Social Department,” Deden said in his statement on Wednesday (29/04/2026).

He added that his side has also prepared the implementation schedule (time table), technical guidance for school operators, and assistance services at schools and related departments.

“We are also preparing service channels at schools and the department so that the SPMB process runs smoothly and the public can receive assistance if they encounter obstacles,” he explained.

In this year’s SPMB implementation, there are several policy updates compared to the previous year. One of them is the use of Academic Ability Test (TKA) results as one of the assessment components, as well as the utilisation of National Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTSN) deciles 1 to 5 for the affirmative pathway.

The registration process remains online, with support from school operators prepared to assist prospective students and parents in filling out data.

To anticipate obstacles, Dikbud Tangsel is also preparing various mitigation steps, such as ensuring the application system runs optimally, opening complaint posts, and conducting intensive monitoring at the school and department levels.

“If there are obstacles, the public can utilise the complaint channels available at schools or the department so that they can be handled immediately,” Deden said.
