SPKLU Transactions Quadruple During Eid 2026
PT PLN (Persero) recorded a fourfold increase in electric vehicle charging transactions at Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) during the 2026 Eid period compared to the previous year. PLN noted that throughout the period from 12 to 31 March 2026, the number of charging transactions reached 303,234.
“The number surged more than fourfold compared to transactions in the same period last year, which totalled 73,161,” said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo, quoted from a written statement on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
According to Darmawan, this trend is a positive signal of increasing public confidence in electric vehicles, particularly during the Eid homecoming momentum. “This is inseparable from the readiness of infrastructure and services that we have provided optimally during the homecoming period,” he said.
To support these needs, Darmawan stated that PLN, together with its partners, has operated 4,769 SPKLU units spread across 3,097 locations throughout Indonesia, with an average distance between stations of about 22 kilometres.
Specifically on major homecoming routes such as Trans-Sumatra, Java, and Bali, there are 1,681 SPKLU units at 994 points, an increase of around 70 per cent compared to the previous Eid.
In addition, PLN has prepared 15 mobile SPKLU units at several strategic points, particularly at toll exit areas, to anticipate emergency needs of electric vehicle users. On the service side, Darmawan explained that PLN has increased charging capacity at several points with fast charging technology up to ultra-fast charging, making charging times shorter.
This service enhancement is supported by the development of digital features in the PLN Mobile application, such as Electric Vehicle Digital Services (EVDS), Trip Planner, and AntreEV, which allows users to monitor queues directly.
Darmawan added that transaction convenience has also been improved through the EV-TAP electronic payment system, which is available at several SPKLU on the Trans-Java route, making the charging process more practical. “We will continue to strengthen electric vehicle infrastructure and services so that the public becomes more comfortable switching to clean energy,” said Darmawan.
