SPKLU Transactions in Bali Increase Ninefold During Nyepi-Lebaran Holiday

PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Bali recorded a ninefold increase in power charging transactions via Stasiun Pengisian Kendaraan Listrik Umum (SPKLU) during the 2026 Nyepi and Idul Fitri holiday period. This rise is said to demonstrate the rapid growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Bali. “The surge in SPKLU transactions during this religious holiday period shows that electric vehicles are increasingly becoming the choice of the public,” stated General Manager of PLN UID Bali, Eric Rossi Priyo Nugroho, in his remarks on Wednesday (8/4/2026). Eric detailed that from 13 March to 5 April 2026, there were 13,531 power charging transactions with a total energy consumption of 318,890.33 kWh. This figure represents an increase of up to 899 percent compared to the same period in 2025, which recorded 1,355 transactions. PLN, according to Eric, continues to expand the SPKLU network in various strategic locations on the Island of the Gods, including tourist routes, city centres, and rest areas. PLN UID Bali will also enhance service quality to support the acceleration of clean energy transition and sustainable mobility in Bali. “PLN continues to ensure the availability and reliability of SPKLU at strategic points to support comfortable and environmentally friendly mobility,” he concluded.
