Spirit of National Awakening Day, Hope to Safeguard the Motherland Through Energy Independence
PT Pertamina (Persero) marks the 118th National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) as a moment to strengthen national energy resilience through business transformation, sustainable innovation, and adaptive risk management amid the evolving global dynamics.
To mark Harkitnas 2026, Pertamina held a flag-raising ceremony at Pertamina’s Head Office building in Jakarta on Wednesday (20 May). The ceremony was conducted with solemnity and attended by Pertamina Group officers across the holding, subholding, and Pertamina Services subsidiary.
Director of Risk Management at PT Pertamina (Persero), Ahmad Siddik Badruddin, acted as Ceremony Presenter and delivered a message from the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation of the Republic of Indonesia, Meutya Viada Hafid.
Under the theme ‘Guarding the Nation’s Seedlings for Sovereignty’, this year’s Harkitnas commemorates the spirit of protecting the Motherland through safeguarding future generations while simultaneously strengthening national resilience across strategic sectors, including energy.
‘Under the leadership of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, that vision of independence is realised through various national strategic programmes that directly touch the basic needs of the people,’ Siddik said.
According to Siddik, the National Awakening Day spirit is also an important moment to reinforce collaboration, innovation, and good governance in sustaining national energy.
‘National Awakening Day is an important moment to strengthen energy resilience through adaptive risk management. For Pertamina, integrated risk management forms a crucial foundation for maintaining operational continuity and ensuring the national energy supply remains secure,’ Siddik said.
He added that energy resilience is determined by the ability to adapt to global changes while ensuring energy sustainability for future generations.
‘Pertamina will continue to strengthen risk governance across all business lines, reinforce HSSE aspects, digital transformation, and the development of low-carbon energy to meet future energy challenges,’ he added.
VP Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, added that Harkitnas is an important moment for all Pertamina officers to continually rekindle nationalism and reinforce the company’s contribution to safeguarding the nation’s energy resilience.
‘This spirit must be nurtured within Pertamina. Let us rekindle nationalist spirit; besides that, Pertamina continues to develop capabilities to fulfil its mandate in supporting national energy resilience,’ Baron said.
