Speculation Mounts Over Detention of Dadan Hindayana and Others; Attorney General's Office to Issue Official Statement

Speculation has arisen regarding the alleged detention of the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, alongside two former Deputy Heads, Lodewyk Pusung and Sonny Sanjaya, following a raid by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) at the BGN office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

Circulating information suggests that the three individuals were taken into custody as early as 04:00 WIB. However, the Attorney General’s Office has not yet provided an official explanation regarding these reports. Jefri, the Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre at the Attorney General’s Office, confirmed only that a search was conducted at the BGN office located in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta.

Regarding the information concerning the pickup of Dadan Hindayana, Lodewyk Pusung, and Sonny Sanjaya, Jefri declined to provide specific details, stating that the Attorney General’s Office would release an official explanation. “The official release regarding the pickup will be issued later,” he told reporters on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

The reports of the former BGN officials being taken into custody emerged alongside the investigators’ actions at the agency’s office. At this stage, the specific case underlying these legal actions remains unknown.

The search has drawn significant attention as it occurred just one day after President Prabowo Subianto reshuffled the leadership of the agency. The search was confirmed by Jefri, who noted that investigators from the Special Crimes Directorate (Dittipidsus) of the Attorney General’s Office were indeed conducting legal actions at the BGN office.

This raid coincides with major structural changes within the BGN. On Tuesday night, 2 June 2026, President Prabowo implemented a leadership change in the agency, which serves as the spearhead for the national nutrition programme. In the new structure, Nanik S. Deyang was appointed as the Head of the BGN, replacing Dadan Hindayana. Additionally, the Deputy Head positions are now held by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono, replacing Lodewik Kusung and Soni Sanjaya. Following the news of the raid, questions have been raised regarding the potential investigation into Dadan Hindayana, who has only recently stepped down from his position.
