Specifications and Price of Changan Deepal S05, Available in BEV and REEV

Changan has introduced the Deepal S05 as the first SUV in Indonesia available with two electrification technology options, namely Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV). The arrival of the Deepal S05 REEV has also drawn attention as it is the first REEV technology vehicle officially introduced for the Indonesian market. Displayed in the Mega Kuningan area, Jakarta, on Tuesday, the Deepal S05 appears as a crossover-style SUV with a futuristic, elegant character, yet also possesses a sporty silhouette thanks to its SUV platform. Its front fascia features a minimalist design with few openings, with the main headlamps neatly integrated into the bumper sides, paired with thin daytime running lights (DRL) stretching across the top, creating a wide impression. This SUV has dimensions of 4,620 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,600 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,880 mm, which is claimed to be best in its class. Inside the cabin, the Deepal S05 is equipped with a 15.4-inch (39.11 cm) main touchscreen with 2.5K Ultra Clear resolution serving as the vehicle control and entertainment centre. The screen features Sunflower Screen technology, allowing it to rotate up to 15 degrees towards the driver or front passenger. Comfort is also supported by the front passenger seat with heating, ventilation, a leg rest, and memory seat functions. The REEV technology combines a pure electric drive system with an internal combustion engine (ICE) that functions specifically as a generator to charge the battery. This approach is aimed at consumers who desire the experience of driving an electric car without worrying about the limitations of charging infrastructure during long-distance journeys. Both the BEV and REEV variants are built on the Changan EPA1 All Electric Digital Platform with a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration and independent suspension on all wheels. The platform is designed to deliver safety, efficiency, and stable performance in various driving conditions. The Deepal S05 REEV combines a 27.28 kWh battery with a 1,500 cc petrol engine as a generator, enabling a combined range of more than 1,100 kilometres. In EV mode, the REEV variant can travel up to 170 kilometres (NEDC). In terms of performance, the Deepal S05 BEV produces a maximum power of 200 kW and torque of 290 Nm. Meanwhile, the Deepal S05 REEV is equipped with a rear electric motor producing a maximum power of 160 kW and torque of 320 Nm.
