Specifications and features of the Volvo ES90 electric sedan
Jakarta – Volvo Car Indonesia has officially launched the Volvo ES90, the latest premium electric sedan that serves as Volvo’s flagship electrification model in the country. The model arrives with the latest electrification technology, high performance, and advanced digital connectivity designed to deliver a more complete electric driving experience. ‘The arrival of the ES90 symbolises our commitment to delivering premium mobility solutions that are not only sophisticated but also sustainable and relevant to the needs of today’s consumers. The ES90 raises Volvo’s technology to a higher level and extends its range, enables faster charging, and enriches the connected digital experience,’ said Koji Horii, Chief Executive Officer of Volvo Car Indonesia, in Jakarta on Thursday. In the Indonesian market, the ES90 is offered on-the-road price in Jakarta of Rp 2.1 billion, positioning it as an electric vehicle in the premium segment.
In terms of performance, this electric sedan uses an 800 V architecture combined with a 92 kWh battery. Based on WLTP testing, the sedan can cover a distance of up to 661 km on a single charge, making it one of Volvo’s electric vehicles with the longest range. The ability to charge is also one of its strengths. Recharging the battery from 10 to 80 percent via a 350 kW DC fast charging station is claimed to take around 22 minutes.
For the Indonesian market, ES90 outputs 245 kW or 333 hp with a maximum torque of 480 Nm, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 180 km/h.
The car’s interior adopts a clean and modern Scandinavian design with a spacious cabin and high-quality materials. The cabin features a 14.5-inch central touchscreen as the control hub for the infotainment system and a 9-inch instrument display. An optional 13.2-inch head-up display projects real-time driving information onto the driver’s line of sight.
Other comfort features include multi-zone climate control, a cabin air purification system capable of filtering up to 95 percent of particulate pollution, and an electrochromic panoramic roof. Cabin pre-conditioning enables the driver to set the cabin temperature before a trip via the Volvo Car app.
For connectivity, ES90 is equipped with Google built-in, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay support. Volvo Superset core computing technology also enables over-the-air software updates without visiting a workshop.
On safety, the car is built with a 360-degree protective body structure supported by camera, radar, and ultrasonic sensors. The driver understanding system actively monitors driver condition to anticipate potential risks during driving.
The ES90 complements Volvo’s premium line in Indonesia together with models such as the Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC60, while confirming Volvo’s long-term strategy to expand its electric vehicles portfolio in the luxury segment.
