Special Staff of the Presidential Chief of Staff Monitors SR Construction in Nganjuk

Nganjuk (ANTARA) - Special Staff to the Presidential Chief of Staff, Timothy Ivan Triyono, directly monitored the construction of the People’s School (SR) in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, which is a national priority programme. “We have the task of monitoring and evaluating national priority programmes. One of them is the construction of this permanent People’s School, targeted to operate in 2026 and be usable for the new academic year in July 2026,” said Ivan in Nganjuk on Thursday. While monitoring the construction of People’s School Stage II in Balonggebang Village, Gondang Subdistrict, Nganjuk, Ivan stated that the People’s School construction in Nganjuk is progressing well. As of now, the construction process has reached approximately 24 percent. The target is to reach around 40 percent by early May 2026. The People’s School construction process in Nganjuk involves around 500 workers. However, the government suggests adding more workers, with the total potentially reaching 1,000 people, so that the construction process can be completed soon. The land area used for the construction of People’s School Stage II in Nganjuk Regency spans 5.8 hectares. The project is being built directly by the central government. His side also appreciated all related parties, such as the Ministry of Public Works, which has worked hard to realise the People’s School construction, including in Nganjuk. Ivan acknowledged that there were dynamics at the beginning of the People’s School construction, but those issues have been resolved. “Indeed, there were dynamics at the start, there were things that caused delays, but we believe that from the Minister of Public Works, all stakeholders in the Ministry of Public Works and also the service providers will work hard to make every effort,” he said. Regarding the national People’s School construction, Ivan mentioned that there are 104 buildings being constructed in this Stage II. Of the total 104 locations, construction progress has reached around 28 percent. Medan recorded the highest progress figure, reaching 56.9 percent. “Nationally, the progress is 28 percent, the highest is in Medan at 56.9 percent. On average, from those visited by the KSP, it’s 30 to 40 percent as of today, expected to be more than 50 percent by early May,” said Ivan. He hopes the construction process can proceed according to schedule and be utilised soon by children for schooling at the People’s School.
