Special Rp1 Fare Draws Crowds to Jabodebek LRT for Lebaran Holiday Celebration
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Numerous residents crowded the Lintas Raya Terpadu (LRT) Jabodebek service to spend the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 holiday, while taking advantage of the special fare of Rp1, with the main destination being Dukuh Atas Station.
A resident from Bekasi, Zahra (32), said she deliberately used the LRT for a holiday to the city centre with her family.
“It’s more practical to take the LRT, especially with the fare still very affordable during Lebaran. We’re heading to Dukuh Atas, then continuing to stroll around Sudirman,” said Zahra when met at the LRT Dukuh Atas Station, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
Passenger density was evident from morning until evening, dominated by people travelling for tourism or social visits.
LRT Jabodebek users generally departed from Kampung Rambutan Station, Ciliwung Station, to TMII Station towards the city centre via Dukuh Atas Station.
That station is integrated with other modes of transportation, namely MRT, KRL, and Transjakarta.
“Dukuh Atas Station is integrated with everything, making it easier for us to access various tourist destinations in Jakarta,” said Zahra.
Ardi (27), a resident of Cibubur, expressed the same sentiment, choosing the LRT to the capital’s centre to avoid toll road congestion.
“If using a private vehicle, it would definitely be jammed. Taking the LRT is faster and more comfortable, especially directly to Dukuh Atas, which is the transportation hub,” said Ardi.
According to Ardi, he could relax more on the LRT without having to drive a private car.
“If taking the LRT, I can look at my phone, relax first, rest while waiting to reach the destination. If driving a private car, I have to steer, tired on the road facing traffic,” said Ardi.
The special Rp1 fare for public transportation such as MRT, Jabodebek LRT, and Transjakarta remains in effect until the second day of Lebaran 2026, Sunday (22/3).
This special fare policy aims to increase public interest in using LRT Jabodebek as a mobility option in urban areas.
Especially during the Lebaran holiday period, which is synonymous with high travel activity.
