Special Committee 17 Holds Working Meeting Regarding Draft Regional Regulation for Inspectorate Building and Bandung City Regional Hospital Construction
The Special Committee (Pansus) 17 of the Bandung City DPRD held a working meeting with various regional agencies to conduct a deep discussion on the substance of the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda).
Maya Himawati, Chairperson of Pansus 17 of the Bandung City DPRD, explained that the current discussions specifically focus on the legal basis for multi-year budgeting, construction planning readiness, financing mechanisms, and synchronisation with existing laws and regulations.
Maya stated that the construction of the Regional Inspectorate Building and the Bandung City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) are strategic projects that require a strong legal foundation to ensure implementation is effective, accountable, and provides legal certainty.
“The discussion of this Draft Regional Regulation aims to ensure that all stages of construction using the multi-year budgeting scheme meet juridical, administrative, and technical aspects,” Maya said in a statement on Sunday, 2 August 2026. “This way, the construction process can proceed according to regulations and provide optimal benefits for the people of Bandung City.”
According to Maya, a representative Inspectorate building will support the strengthening of the local government’s internal oversight functions. Meanwhile, the construction of the RSUD is part of the Bandung City Government’s commitment to improving the quality and capacity of healthcare services for the community.
Through this working meeting, Pansus 17 of the Bandung City DPRD also gathered various inputs from the West Java Provincial Government, regional agencies, and the Academic Paper Drafting Team to refine the Draft Regional Regulation. All feedback will serve as the basis for formulating a comprehensive, implementable regulation that aligns with statutory provisions.
The Bandung City DPRD hopes that the discussion of this Draft Regional Regulation can be completed promptly to provide a solid legal basis for the construction of the Regional Inspectorate Building and the Bandung City RSUD through the multi-year budgeting mechanism, aiming to achieve better governance and improved public services for the citizens of Bandung.
