Speaker of the MPR Ensures All Input Regarding PPHN Draft Will Be Studied

The Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ahmad Muzani, has emphasised that all public criticism regarding the draft of the State Policy Guidelines (PPHN) will be studied. Muzani noted that many inputs are considered significant for the development of the PPHN draft.

“Yesterday, there was a lot of input regarding the PPHN concept; the feedback was quite substantial and high-quality, coming from readers following this issue online, and we are continuing to study it. The teams from the Assessment Agency and the Study Commission will also continue to examine these meaningful contributions,” Muzani said at the Senayan Complex, Jakarta, on Saturday (5/9/2026).

Muzani stated that his office has not yet discussed the proposal for a limited amendment to the PPHN. He noted that the PPHN is intended to eventually become a formal legal product.

“We have not discussed that yet, but the direction is towards that, as this material must become a legal product,” he remarked.

Muzani added that the assessment process is ongoing. He stated that the most suitable legal umbrella will be selected for the PPHN draft.

“Once this concept is deemed perfect, we must find its legal form. It could be an MPR Decree (TAP MPR), a Law, or a limited amendment to the Constitution,” he concluded.
