Speaker of the House reads Pancasila Sanctity Day Pledge at Lubang Buaya

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, read the text of the pledge during the Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration ceremony held at the Pancasila Sakti Monument, Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta, on Thursday (1/10).

In the pledge, Puan called upon all ceremony participants to reflect on the nation’s journey since Indonesia’s independence on 17 August 1945.

“By the grace of God Almighty, we who perform this ceremony fully realise that since the proclamation of independence of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 1945, there have, in fact, been many attacks, both from within the country and from abroad, against the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” Puan stated while reading the pledge.

“That these attacks were made possible due to the negligence and lack of vigilance of the Indonesian nation against activities attempting to overthrow Pancasila as the state ideology,” she continued.

In the following section, Puan emphasised the importance of a spirit of togetherness, grounded in Pancasila values, to strengthen the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

In the closing section, Puan read the determination to maintain and implement the values of Pancasila.

“Therefore, before God Almighty, in commemorating Pancasila Sanctity Day, we resolve to continue to maintain and implement the values of Pancasila as a source of strength, fostering togetherness to fight for and uphold truth and justice for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Puan.

Puan wore a black batik with striped motifs and mega mendung accents during the ceremony.

Previously, the Speaker of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, read the Pancasila text, followed by the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, who read the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.

The Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration ceremony was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, who arrived at approximately 08:55 WIB. The President also served as the ceremony inspector.

Meanwhile, Colonel Mar Edo Sidharta Halilintar served as the ceremony commander. A number of coordinating ministers, ministers, and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet were also in attendance at the ceremony.
