Speaker of the House of Representatives believes Prabowo's plenary speech will strengthen the rupiah

Saan also said Prabowo’s speech shows optimism about Indonesia’s economy going forward. He believes the Indonesian economy will improve in 2027.

“I am confident there will be improvements and significant gains across all the indicators mentioned by the President,” he continued.

Moreover, Saan assessed that Prabowo’s speech will strengthen the rupiah exchange rate. He said the depreciation of the rupiah and the IHSG are merely ordinary fluctuations.

“That reflects, from what the President conveyed with those indicators, that it also signals optimism that our rupiah will strengthen. I am confident that today there are fluctuations related to the rupiah and stock indices, which, in my view, are normal, ordinary,” he explained.

“I am confident the government has anticipated and prepared steps to prevent a decline in the rupiah against the dollar as well as the composite stock index; these steps are ready to be implemented going forward, God willing they will hold and begin to recover,” he added.
