SPBUN-SGN Appreciates DPR's Steps in Resolving Employment Polemic

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, accompanied by Chair of Commission VI DPR RI Anggia Ermarini and Member of Commission VI DPR RI Nasim Khan, received representatives of the Serikat Pekerja Perkebunan Nusantara PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara (SPBUN-SGN) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. SPBUN-SGN conveyed its appreciation for the mediation process with the management of PT SGN, which has been facilitated by the DPR RI since last week. The mediation successfully reached a meeting point on employee aspirations, particularly regarding bonuses and standard harmonisation. The results of the discussions have been accepted and are being followed up by management. Chair of Commission VI DPR RI Anggia Ermarini stated that communication between employees and management was facilitated to find the best solution for all parties. “This resolution is good news for SGN employees. Their aspirations have been accepted and are being processed by management,” said Anggia. General Chair of SPBUN-SGN M. Rofi expressed gratitude to Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Anggia Ermarini, and Nasim Khan for their role in helping to resolve the workers’ aspirations. “We hope the results of this agreement will benefit all SGN employees,” said Rofi. After reaching a meeting point, the workers declared their readiness to improve performance and support the national sugar self-sufficiency and energy security programmes. The DPR RI affirmed its commitment to continue opening space for aspirations and bridging communication so that every public issue obtains the best solution.
