Moscow (ANTARA) – Spanish rail operator Renfe has temporarily suspended ticket sales for high-speed trains on the Madrid–Andalusia route, where a fatal accident occurred on Wednesday (28 October).

According to Europa Press, citing the company, the suspension will remain in place until December 2026. Passenger services could resume sooner if infrastructure operator Adif restores the line earlier.

Adif has not yet been able to confirm when repairs to the infrastructure will be completed.

Two passenger trains collided in Spain’s Toledo province on Wednesday (28 October) after a computer failure caused the safety system to stop working.

Authorities said nearly 70 people were killed, and the government declared three days of national mourning.
