Spanish Foreign Minister Announces Israel's Plan to Release Sumud Flotilla Activist Saif Abukeshek

Spanish media have reported statements from Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares regarding Zionist Israel's intention to release Saif Abukeshek. Saif is one of the leaders of the Global Sumud Flotilla, who was abducted by Zionist naval forces while leading a humanitarian voyage to breach the Gaza blockade in Palestine. Saif remains in Zionist military custody in Shikma prison in the occupied territory. As reported by the Spanish radio portal Cadena SER on Saturday (9/5/2026), Albares stated that the Israeli occupying authorities will release Saif today. 'That Israel will release the citizen Saif Abukeshek, who is currently detained in an Israeli prison, in the next few hours,' stated Cadena SER as quoted by Republika on Saturday (9/5/2026). Albares conveyed that Saif is scheduled to be released through Egypt. 'This is a very joyful moment,' said Albares. According to him, the Spanish Foreign Ministry is currently continuing to ensure that Zionist Israel carries out Saif's release and that Saif can return to Spain to meet his entire family. 'That the Foreign Ministry is working to ensure that Saif Abukeshek returns to Spain with his family as soon as possible after being released,' the news continued.
