Spanish Embassy in Iran Reopens

Madrid (ANTARA) - Spain’s Ambassador to Iran, Antonio Sanchez-Benedito Gaspar, stated on Monday that the Spanish Embassy in Tehran has been reopened as a step aimed at supporting global peace efforts. In a post on the social media platform X, he said he had returned to the Iranian capital with his “committed team” to “join peace efforts from all corners,” in accordance with instructions from Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares. Spain had previously temporarily reduced its diplomatic presence in Iran amid increasing regional tensions. The reopening of the embassy coincides with Madrid’s efforts to support de-escalation and diplomatic initiatives in the Middle East.
