Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Committee for the Academic Achievement Selection of State Islamic Religious Universities (SPAN-PTKIN) has implemented several updates to its selection methodology to improve accountability, equitable access to education, and national data integration.

SPAN-PTKIN 2026 Chairman Abdul Aziz stated that this year’s selection transformation focuses on cross-sector collaboration, including synergy with the Centre for Educational Assessment (Pusmendik) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, as well as data integration with the National New Student Admission Selection System (SNPMB) and the Academic Competency Test (TKA).

“This year, we are strengthening the fundamentals, starting from updating report card verification methods to national-scale data integration. We want to ensure that every student has a fair opportunity through a transparent system,” said Abdul Aziz in his statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

Strengthening is also being carried out at the grassroots level by involving Guidance and Counselling Teachers (Guru BK) across Indonesia and Regional Offices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to ensure optimal socialisation and registration assistance.

From a managerial perspective, the National Committee has launched a real-time monitoring dashboard to track school unit data, the number of applicants, and distribution across State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN). The assessment system has also been revamped through updates to the Scoring Method and Formula, as well as a more accurate School Index Formula.

“The involvement of various parties, including regional offices, the Directorate of Student Affairs, the Directorate of Pesantren and Religious Education, and the Directorate of Higher Islamic Education, demonstrates that this selection is a collaborative effort to identify the best talents from madrasahs, pesantrens, or public schools,” he said.

“The update to the selection method based on equitable distribution of educational units will minimise access disparities between regions,” added Sahiron.

With these various innovations, SPAN-PTKIN 2026 is expected to become a new standard in university admissions selection that excels not only academically but is also inclusive and adaptive to developments in educational technology.
