Spain: US did not inform its allies about attack on Iran

Moscow (ANTARA) — Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said on Wednesday that the United States did not warn its allies about the launch of military operations against Iran. ‘No ally was warned and there was no attempt to involve the United Nations (UN),’ Albares told RTVE radio when asked whether Washington had warned its partners before the bombing in Iran.

On February 28, the US and Israel carried out a series of strikes against a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, with reports of damage and civilian casualties. Iran’s state television confirmed that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the attack.

Iran subsequently launched a retaliation of missile strikes against Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
