Spa Therapist Nur Steals Rp1.2bn from Customer Tonny by Peeking at ATM PIN

Surabaya Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed how Nur Hasannah Prasetya, a spa therapist, drained Tonny Soegiono’s account. Tonny, a Superior Spa customer, had his PIN observed by Nur during transactions.

Prosecutor Hasanudin Tandilolo stated that Tonny’s negligence was exploited by Nur, particularly as he frequently left his phone in the bathroom. Nur’s malicious intent was facilitated as Tonny’s ATM card was tucked inside the phone’s soft case.

‘How did she know the PIN? Because the victim (Tonny) was spied on when withdrawing cash, as they often went out together,’ said Hasanudin, cited by detikJatim on Wednesday (27 May 2026).

According to Hasanudin, the theft occurred from 8 August 2024 to 24 September 2024, based on the victim’s bank statement.

‘The theft was found in the victim’s account and only discovered recently,’ the Surabaya Public Prosecutor’s Office explained.

Nur was charged with stealing up to Rp1.2 billion from her colleague’s account. Prosecutors stated the defendant took advantage of the victim leaving his phone and made secret transfers via the victim’s ATM.
