S&P revises rating outlook for Vietnam

HANOI: Vietnam's long-term ratings outlook was revised by
Standard and Poor's on Tuesday to positive from stable, notably
thanks to the government's commitment to reforms.

"The positive outlook takes into account measured progress in
legislative reforms in support of ongoing trade liberalization,
and bilateral and multilateral agreements," said Agost Benard, an
agency analyst, in a statement.

The agency said the move "reflects the ruling communist
party's commitment to transformation toward a market economy and
to increased international integration."

It also believes the path of reforms will continue in the
