Corporate demand for sovereign cloud services is rising amid digital advancement and heightened focus on data security and regulatory compliance.

According to EY research, 79% of organisations in Indonesia now prioritise sovereign cloud initiatives as part of their technology strategy, particularly concerning data security, regulatory compliance, and control over digital infrastructure.

In line with this demand, PT Arupa Cloud Nusantara has partnered with Civo to launch a Kubernetes-based sovereign cloud platform in Indonesia.

“Indonesia is a rapidly growing digital market, and organisations increasingly require cloud infrastructure that is not only technologically robust but also transparent and relevant to local needs,” said Mark Boost, CEO of Civo, in a press release received Sunday.

This is expected to help companies accelerate application deployment, enhance scalability, and optimise cloud operational efficiency.

“Together with Arupa, we are introducing a sovereign cloud platform in Indonesia that provides companies with greater flexibility and control over their digital capabilities,” Boost added.

Sovereign cloud refers to a storage and cloud computing service specifically designed to comply with local laws, regulations, and data sovereignty in a particular region or country.

Kubernetes, meanwhile, is an open-source platform for managing and running container-based applications.

With experience in cloud services and technology platform management, Arupa will assist customers in adopting Kubernetes and cloud-native approaches tailored to local business needs.

Arupa Cloud Nusantara CEO Reza Kertadjaja stated that the collaboration strengthens cloud infrastructure options for organisations in Indonesia.

“By combining local expertise with a sovereign cloud platform, we aim to help companies build more transparent, scalable digital capabilities aligned with Indonesia’s technology ecosystem development,” he said.

The collaboration is expected to drive the adoption of modern infrastructure in Indonesia while supporting a stronger, locally relevant cloud ecosystem.

Arupa Cloud Nusantara is an Indonesian cloud and technology service provider, while Civo offers sovereign cloud and AI platforms.
