Southeast Sulawesi Residents Flock to Governor Andi Sumangerukka's Open House
Governor of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), Andi Sumangerukka, held an open house for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah at the Official Residence (Rujab). Since Saturday morning (21/3), hundreds of people had already crowded the location even before the official opening, with the total number of visitors estimated at 700 to 1,000 people.
Not only for exchanging greetings, the residents who attended also received holiday allowances (THR) distributed directly after the meeting. All the provisions and THR distribution in the event were funded from the Governor’s personal funds, without involving regional budgets.
Head of the Leadership Administration Bureau (Adpim) of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) Sultra, Haris Ranto, stated that the visiting schedule for the general public had been arranged from the start through social media to ensure the open house ran orderly.
“The schedule for the general public is open from 09:00 to 12:00 WITA. This has been announced through social media so that residents’ arrivals are well-scheduled,” said Haris.
Residents’ enthusiasm was high. Even before the designated time, people had started arriving and filling the Governor’s Official Residence area since around 08:00 WITA.
“Approximately 700 to 1,000 residents attended in that special public session,” he said.
He explained that the open house activity not only served as a forum for exchanging greetings between the Provincial Government and the community but also strengthened relations with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), institutions/agencies, and regency/city governments throughout Sultra.
