Southeast Sulawesi Implements Waiting List System for Filling Echelon Positions
Kendari (ANTARA) - The Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government (Pemprov Sultra) has begun implementing a waiting list system in the mechanism for filling echelon III and IV positions within its local bureaucracy to ensure objectivity.
Southeast Sulawesi Governor Andi Sumangerukka, when met in Kendari on Thursday, stated that under this new system, selection participants will be divided into two categories: passed status and successful status.
Participants who pass will immediately occupy available positions, while those who succeed will be entered into a data bank.
“Usually, when filling a position, we suddenly look for someone who meets the requirements, so the choices are sometimes haphazard. With this system, those who succeed will enter the waiting list to prioritise them for filling vacant positions in the future,” he said.
He explained that the implementation of the data bank system aims to ensure that the regional government has a stock of competent apparatus ready for use.
He further elaborated that this mechanism also prioritises a meritocracy system based on the willingness and ability of civil servants (ASN) in carrying out their main duties and functions.
The selection process was conducted from 30 March to 8 April 2026, covering the filling of 27 echelon III positions (administrator level) and 24 echelon IV positions (supervisor level).
He added that officials declared as passed will be inaugurated immediately after the Technical Consideration (Pertek) from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) is issued, which is estimated to take about five to six days.
“While waiting for the administrative process from BKN, the names that have been announced are declared final and cannot be contested. This step is taken as a commitment to transparency in personnel arrangement within the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government,” he said.
