Kendari — The Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government has begun distributing Professional Teacher Allowances (TPG), Holiday Bonuses (THR) and thirteenth-month salaries for 2026 to secondary school, vocational school and special needs school educators totalling 63 billion rupiah.

Southeast Sulawesi Governor Andi Sumangerukka, when met in Kendari on Wednesday, stated that the distribution of various allowances represents the regional government’s commitment to improving educator welfare in the Bumi Anoa region.

He noted that the provision of these allowances is expected to help ease the financial burden of teachers, particularly in meeting household needs ahead of the 1447 Hijrah/2026 Eid celebration.

Andi Sumangerukka also urged educators to use the funds wisely, whether for family needs or to support their professional activities as teachers.

“We are also encouraging teachers to continue enhancing their competence and professionalism in carrying out their duties. Teachers must be more creative and innovative in the learning process, including utilising technology so that teaching methods become increasingly adaptive to contemporary needs,” he said.

Andi Sumangerukka explained that the disbursement of teacher entitlements was initiated following his receipt of appeals from numerous educators seeking confirmation of payment dates. After verification with relevant agencies, he instructed acceleration of administrative procedures to ensure timely fund distribution, particularly before the holiday period.

“I requested that the process be expedited so that teachers’ entitlements can be received promptly and openly. This represents the government’s appreciation for the dedication of teachers and supervisors in educating the nation’s children in Southeast Sulawesi,” he said.

In addition to distributing teacher allowances, Governor Sumangerukka also presented free school uniforms to special needs school students as a demonstration of the regional government’s commitment to educational access for children with special needs.
