Southeast Asian Engineering Conference to be Held in Bandung in October

The Indonesian Institution of Engineers (PII) has revealed several agendas for the Conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO), which is planned to be held in Bandung, West Java, from 20–22 October 2026.

“For the 44th CAFEO in Bandung, we report several major agendas, such as conferences, engineering exhibitions, and the organisation of working groups and technical visits that will differ from the usual hotel-based settings. We will hold them across seven different locations tailored to the theme,” said the Executive Director of PII and Chairperson of the CAFEO Organising Committee, Santhi Serad, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.

Santhi explained that these locations include PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) for the logistics and transport working group, as well as a technical visit themed the Indonesia Train Operation Control Center Tour.

Furthermore, PT Pindad (Persero) will host the emerging technology working group, alongside a technical visit themed the Weapon, Ammunition, and Combat Vehicle Production Tour.

Additionally, she stated that the Geological Museum will serve as the venue for the disaster preparedness working group and a technical visit themed the Geology Museum Tour.

For the sustainable cities working group, the event will be held at the Bandung City Hall.

The education and capacity building working group will take place at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

“PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) will host the engineering mobility working group, alongside an Airplane Production Tour,” she said.

She continued, “The working group themed Food and Agriculture Engineering, and the technical visit themed Pharmaceutical Production Tour, will be held at Bio Farma, Bandung.”
