South Tangerang Mayor Urges Unity at 81st Independence Day Celebration
A spirit of community togetherness marked the thanksgiving celebration for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in South Tangerang City.
South Tangerang Mayor Benyamin Davnie invited the public to use the independence momentum as an opportunity to strengthen togetherness, unity, and care for one another.
This was conveyed by Benyamin during the thanksgiving event held at Al-Itishom Mosque, South Tangerang City Government Centre, Ciputat District, on Tuesday (18/8/2026).
“Let us fill this independence with simple things: working with integrity, serving sincerely, looking after the environment, helping others, educating the younger generation, and continuing to do good wherever we are,” said Benyamin.
Benyamin said the independence momentum must be an opportunity to strengthen togetherness and unity within society. These values, he said, can be realised through various aspects of daily life.
He also encouraged the public to continue enlivening religious activities in South Tangerang City, maintaining harmony, strengthening mutual cooperation, and avoiding anything that could divide unity.
According to him, the spirit of togetherness is an important asset in the development of South Tangerang City. With the involvement of all elements of society, South Tangerang is expected to become more advanced, comfortable, and prosperous.
“Hopefully, with this spirit of togetherness, South Tangerang will become more advanced, more comfortable, more prosperous, and an even better home for all its residents,” he explained.
On that occasion, Benyamin also stated that the South Tangerang City Government continues to strive to provide support for Quranic teachers. One such effort is through the provision of incentives as a form of government attention to their role in community religious education.
“We continue to try to provide incentives for Quranic teachers. With all its limitations, it is not very large, but hopefully it brings benefits,” he said.
On behalf of the South Tangerang City Government, Benyamin invited all residents to make the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia a momentum to continue giving their best for Indonesia and South Tangerang City.
“Long live the 81st Republic of Indonesia. Let us continue to give meaning to everything, the government and all its elements, in the best way for Indonesia and all of South Tangerang,” he concluded.
