South Tangerang Deputy Mayor Threatens to Withhold Permits for Green SM Taxi Pool Project in Ciater
South Tangerang - The Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang, Pilar Saga Ichsan, has threatened to withhold the issuance of further permits for the construction of the Green SM Taxi Pool project on Jalan Raya Ciater, Serua, Ciputat, if the developers fail to fulfil all requirements.
In addition to permitting issues such as the Building Construction Approval (PBG) and Traffic Impact Analysis (Amdal Lalin), Pilar also highlighted on-site technical aspects, particularly the drainage system, which he deemed inadequate.
“So, we’re not discussing what this is for yet, but I demand that it be fulfilled first. No matter what it’s for, all permits must be met,” Pilar stated during a surprise inspection at the project site on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Nevertheless, the completeness of these permits is a primary requirement before the project proceeds to the next construction phase.
“I see that the initial permitting process for cut and fill has indeed been carried out. The subsequent processes, such as PBG, Amdal Lalin, and others, are still in progress,” Pilar said.
Besides permitting issues, Pilar also spotlighted on-site technical aspects, especially regarding the drainage system.
“It should have its own drainage channel. Don’t burden the existing road drainage,” he remarked.
He added that the project’s location on a vital route makes this issue even more crucial.
The lack of a drainage system has been assessed as the cause of project mud previously overflowing onto Jalan Ciater Raya, making the road surface slippery.
As a quick handling measure, the South Tangerang City Government has requested that the developers immediately construct environmental drainage channels and ensure that soil material no longer flows onto the road or into water channels that could cause silting.
“The quickest action we are requesting is the excavation for drainage. I also asked the fire department to be on standby in anticipation of rain,” Pilar said.
As of this report, the project contractor for the Green SM Taxi Pool construction has not provided a response when contacted by Kompas.com.
