South Tangerang City Government Prepares Education Aid for Students at 94 Private Junior High Schools for 2026/2027 Academic Year
The South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot Tangsel) is once again preparing education aid for prospective students who are not accepted into State Junior High Schools (SMPN) and will continue their education at private junior high schools for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. This assistance programme is part of the city government’s commitment to supporting the compulsory education programme while ensuring all school-age children still have access to proper education amid the limited capacity of state junior high schools.
South Tangerang City Regional Secretary, Bambang Noertjahjo, stated that this education unit assistance represents the government’s presence in supporting the continuity of students’ education. “We, the South Tangerang City Government, have prepared education aid that can be utilised by prospective students who are not registered at state junior high schools, with a value of Rp1.8 million per student at schools already affiliated with the Education Office,” said Bambang on Wednesday (24/6).
Meanwhile, Head of the South Tangerang City Education and Culture Office (Dikbud), Deden Deni, explained that this year’s education aid quota is prioritised for students who are not accepted in the State Junior High School New Student Admission Selection (SPMB). “This year, the education aid quota will be given to students at 94 private schools,” said Deden. Deden explained that the education cost assistance is an effort by the South Tangerang City Government to help and stimulate the city’s young generation to remain enthusiastic about continuing their education at the junior high school level. “The assistance provided is Rp1.8 million for each student. This is to help ease the financial burden on parents so that their children can continue their education at the junior high school level, and the city government is present to support compulsory education for children according to their education period,” Deden clarified.
There are several requirements that must be met for students to receive the education aid, namely: a. Residents of South Tangerang City, proven by a family card or child identity card. b. Possess a national student identification number. c. Registered in the Education Unit’s Dapodik system. d. Have a bank account number in the recipient’s name. e. Attend a community-run education unit located within the region. f. Attach a photocopy of the current year’s state junior high school SPMB registration proof.
Aid Distribution Mechanism: 1. The education unit proposes prospective recipients of the Education Cost Assistance according to the requirements. 2. The South Tangerang City Education and Culture Office conducts verification through a verification team. 3. The verification results are conveyed to the proposing education unit and determined through a decision by the Head of the South Tangerang City Education and Culture Office.
