South Sumatra Police Destroy Hundreds of Illegal Homemade Firearms
The South Sumatra Regional Police destroyed hundreds of illegal homemade firearms at the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) headquarters in Palembang on Friday (3/7/2026). A total of 397 weapons were eliminated, comprising 284 long-barrelled guns and 113 short-barrelled guns. The firearms were evidence seized during Operation Senpi Musi 2026, which took place from 12 to 27 June 2026. The destruction was carried out to ensure the evidence could no longer be circulated or misused, as part of efforts to suppress illegal firearm ownership and strengthen public security.
