South Sumatra Police Conduct Religious Service Activity at Worship Place to Welcome 80th Bhayangkara Day
The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) carried out a religious service activity in anticipation of the 80th Bhayangkara Day in 2026. This activity aims to strengthen the spirit of dedication and interfaith religious tolerance.
The event, organised by personnel from the Public Relations Division (Bidhumas), took place at the Sin Sen Tau Temple (Yayasan Pitra Utama Indonesia), located at Jalan Tri Brata No. 759, Pahlawan area, Palembang City, on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
During the activity, personnel conducted thorough cleaning work in both the interior and exterior areas of the place of worship to create a clean, comfortable, and conducive environment for the community to perform their religious duties. This social action forms part of the Bhayangkara Service Month series and embodies humanitarian values in police duties.
This step is also in line with the policy of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, through the Polri Presisi programme, which emphasises the importance of closeness between the institution and the community.
The activity was carried out collaboratively between police personnel and temple officials. In addition to the cleaning work, aid was also provided as a form of social concern and to strengthen relations between the National Police (Polri) and the community.
Dwi Citra Akbar, Deputy Head of Multimedia at Bidhumas Polda Sumsel, who led the activity, stated that this religious service is a manifestation of the National Police’s gratitude in welcoming Bhayangkara Day.
“This activity is a form of our concern so that the community can worship comfortably while also strengthening emotional ties between Polri and the community,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations at Polda South Sumatra, Senior Commissioner Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, emphasised that this activity is part of efforts to maintain security and public order stability through a humanistic approach.
“This religious service activity is a tangible manifestation of Polri’s presence in protecting and nurturing the community. We continue to uphold the spirit of ‘Have You Done Good Today?’ as the foundation for providing the best service,” Nandang asserted.
The activity received appreciation from the temple officials and surrounding community, who directly felt the benefits of Polri’s presence. Additionally, this event serves as a platform for social communication to absorb community aspirations regarding police services.
Through the series of activities welcoming the 80th Bhayangkara Day, Polda Sumsel continues to demonstrate transformation towards a modern, humanistic, and responsive institution in maintaining unity and social stability amidst the community.
