Palembang, VIVA - The South Sumatra (Sumsel) Police Chief, Irjen Sandi Nugroho, officially opened the first phase of the 2026 fiscal year performance audit by the Itwasda of the South Sumatra Police, held at the Auditorium on the 7th Floor of the Presisi Building of the South Sumatra Police on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

In his address, Sandi emphasised that the performance audit is not merely an administrative inspection but a strategic instrument to measure the quality of planning, the effectiveness of organisation, and the readiness of work units in responding to evolving policing challenges.

“This performance audit is not just about checking administration, but it serves as a mirror for all of us to see whether our planning, task execution, and service are truly appropriate, beneficial, and felt by the community,” said Sandi.

Sandi highlighted that the focus of the first phase of the 2026 fiscal year performance audit is directed towards risk-based planning and organisation. Therefore, all work units are asked to prepare planning documents that are realistic, meticulous, data-based, and have clear linkages between targets, implementation, and desired outcomes.

Additionally, the former Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police reminded all unit heads and regional unit heads to pay serious attention to the audit process, strengthen internal controls, and use the audit as a momentum for joint evaluation and improvement.

To the auditors, Sandi also requested that the audit implementation be carried out professionally, objectively, and constructively so as to produce applicable recommendations that have a real impact on strengthening the organisation.

On that occasion, Sandi also invited all personnel to build a work culture oriented towards service and real benefits for the community.

He emphasised that all forms of police duties are essentially good deeds that must be carried out correctly, sincerely, and with full responsibility.

“I invite all personnel to continue asking themselves: have we done good today? Because essentially, police duties are good deeds if carried out correctly, sincerely, and provide real benefits to the community,” he said.

Through the implementation of this initial briefing for the first phase of the 2026 Itwasda South Sumatra Police performance audit, it is hoped that all personnel will be increasingly ready to build professional, modern, and trustworthy organisational governance, while strengthening the presence of the National Police that is increasingly felt to be beneficial by the community.
