South Sumatra Police Chief Emphasises Quality Service to Community Ahead of Ketupat Operation
The South Sumatra Police Chief (Kapolda Sumsel) Irjen Sandi Nugroho opened the Pre-Operation Exercise (Latpraops) for Ketupat Musi 2026. This activity was held to strengthen personnel readiness ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.
The Latpraops Ketupat Musi 2026 took place at the 7th Floor Hall of the Precision Building at South Sumatra Police Headquarters on Tuesday 10 March 2026. The event was also attended by the Vice South Sumatra Police Chief Brigjen Rony Samtana, the South Sumatra Police Inspector KBP Feri Handoko Soenarso, and other senior officers of the South Sumatra Police.
In his remarks, Irjen Sandi emphasised that the Ketupat Musi Operation is not merely an annual routine, but rather a strategic humanitarian duty. He stressed that every personnel member must possess appropriate operational readiness to guarantee security and smooth public activities during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr.
“The national tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’ must become the spirit in implementing the 2026 Ketupat Musi Operation. Therefore, the presence of the National Police must be able to provide a sense of security, comfort, and quality service to the community,” said Irjen Sandi.
Furthermore, the South Sumatra Police Chief instructed all ranks to prioritise professionalism and humanitarian values in their duties. According to him, the success of this operation should not only be measured by declining crime figures, but also by the community’s positive perception of police services.
“The success of this operation is measured not only by maintained security and order, but also by the extent to which the National Police can be present as a protector, guardian, and professional, humane, responsive, and trustworthy public servant,” he said.
Irjen Sandi also urged all personnel to maintain the integrity and dignity of the institution whilst on duty in the field. He asked members to work according to the principle of ‘Smart, Thorough, and Sincere’ for the benefit of the nation and state.
“Demonstrate that we are Bhayangkara personnel who work hard, smartly, thoroughly, and sincerely. Sincere in serving the community for the benefit of the nation and state,” said Irjen Sandi.
With the opening of this pre-operation exercise, it is hoped that all personnel will have the same understanding regarding operational patterns and field coordination, so that the targets of ‘Comfortable Homecoming Together’ and ‘Comfortable Eid Together’ in the South Sumatra region are fully realised.
