South Sumatra Police Chief Attends Ramadan Gathering at Provincial Legislature, Strengthening Security Synergy
South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho attended a Ramadan 1447 H gathering with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at the Ar-Ra'iya Mosque within the South Sumatra Provincial Legislature (DPRD) complex. The event served as a strategic moment to strengthen security stability through a religious and communal approach.
Inspector General Sandi's presence at the Ramadan Safari reaffirmed South Sumatra Police's commitment to prioritising a soft approach and cooling system strategy to maintain a conducive public order situation across the province. The gathering also reinforced Forkopimda solidarity.
In his remarks, the South Sumatra DPRD Speaker expressed appreciation for Inspector General Sandi's attendance along with his staff. He stressed that the holy month of Ramadan should serve as a momentum for increasing social awareness and strengthening cross-institutional collaboration for South Sumatra's sustainable development.
Meanwhile, South Sumatra Regional Secretary Edward Candra attended on behalf of Governor Herman Deru. Candra noted that Forkopimda synergy forms the primary foundation for maintaining regional stability. He added that regional development can only proceed optimally when public security and order are consistently upheld.
During the sermon, the preacher reminded the congregation about the importance of integrity, trustworthiness, and responsibility as leaders and public servants. The message aligned with the National Police's commitment to delivering excellent service to the public and maintaining public trust.
Inspector General Sandi, through South Sumatra Police Public Relations Head Commissioner Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, affirmed that religious activities play a strategic role in strengthening regional security stability.
"South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho regards religious activities as a foundation for building togetherness and strengthening bonds. Through this Ramadan Safari momentum, coordination among Forkopimda elements in maintaining security and public order in South Sumatra will become increasingly solid and harmonious," said Commissioner Nandang on Saturday (21/2/2026).
The Public Relations Head further stated that conveying public order messages in a religious atmosphere tends to be more effective.
"Public order messages delivered during Ramadan will be more readily accepted by the community. We hope that active public participation in maintaining neighbourhood security will continue to increase through the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations," he said.
To close the event, the Forkopimda leadership performed congregational Tarawih prayers together followed by a reception. The atmosphere of togetherness throughout the event reflected the strong solidarity among institutions in maintaining harmony, stability, and security across the South Sumatra region.
Through this event, South Sumatra Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security based on togetherness, spirituality, and cross-sector synergy. With a preventive and humanistic approach, the South Sumatra Police Chief called on all elements of society to collectively maintain a safe, peaceful, and calm public order throughout the month of Ramadan.
