South Sumatra Police and PTBA Strengthen Synergy to Secure Energy Supply

Palembang, South Sumatra (ANTARA) - The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) and PT Bukit Asam Tbk. (PTBA) are strengthening synergy to secure the national energy supply. This commitment was affirmed during a meeting between PTBA President Director Bambang Ismawan and his board of directors with South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters in Palembang on Wednesday. Sandi stated that PTBA is not merely a source of pride for Bumi Sriwijaya, but a strategic national company that makes a significant contribution to Indonesia’s energy supply, particularly in fulfilling coal needs for power plants. “Polda Sumsel is committed to providing professional and objective security support in accordance with legal provisions so that all of the company’s operational activities can run safely and smoothly,” he said. According to him, any future dynamics and potential disturbances in the field will be quickly coordinated through relevant functions, ranging from vital object security and intelligence to criminal investigation. This step is expected to create a conducive investment climate while keeping the regional and national economic wheels turning sustainably. On the same occasion, Bambang expressed his appreciation for the security support provided by the police ranks in the South Sumatra region so far. He assessed that rapid and measured coordination with law enforcement officials is a crucial instrument for the company, considering that the smooth operation of PTBA has a direct impact on meeting the community’s electricity needs and macroeconomic stability. Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Senior Commissioner Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, said this collaboration is a tangible implementation of the Indonesian National Police’s PRECISION programme in supporting the national development agenda. “Through fast communication and professional security, we want to ensure that any potential disturbances can be anticipated early so that national energy resilience is maintained,” said Nandang. Through this strategic meeting, both parties agreed to optimise a rapid response system for various tactical issues in the field to ensure the smooth distribution of energy from upstream to downstream.
