South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Recovers IDR 127.2 Billion in State Funds from PT SMB Land Case

The South Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Sumsel) has recovered state financial losses amounting to IDR 127.27 billion from a corruption case involving the unauthorised control and use of state land by PT Sentosa Mulia Bahagia (SMB).

Wakajati Sumsel Anton Delianto stated during a press conference in Palembang on Tuesday that the recovery was achieved through mediation and negotiation between State Attorneys (JPN) and the heirs of the late H. Abdul Halim Ali, the former President Director of PT SMB. “Handling corruption cases is not solely focused on naming suspects and sentencing, but also prioritises the rescue and recovery of state finances,” Anton said.

The details of the state losses include the value of state land assets in the Suaka and Other Use Areas (APL) totalling IDR 2.55 billion, unpaid Land and Building Title Transfer Fees (BPHTB) of IDR 201.58 million, and illegal profits from unlicensed plantation activities amounting to IDR 124.51 billion.

He revealed that the heirs and management of PT SMB have agreed to settle the entire compensation obligation in stages within a maximum period of 12 months. The first payment was agreed at IDR 10.5 billion, with the remaining balance to be paid in monthly instalments of at least IDR 9.69 billion at the end of each working month until the total amount is fully recovered. All compensation payments for the state losses are officially deposited into the Other Government Account (RPL) of the Musi Banyuasin District Prosecutor’s Office in accordance with applicable regulatory mechanisms.
