South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru and Deputy Governor Cik Ujang accompanied Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on a working visit to South Sumatra Province yesterday. During the visit, Gibran inspected BPJS Kesehatan services and medical facilities at Siti Fatimah Regional General Hospital in Palembang. He directly observed the service rooms, patient queues for BPJS Kesehatan, and various medical support facilities. The inspection represents a synergy between the central government and the South Sumatra Provincial Government to ensure healthcare services for BPJS Kesehatan participants run well, quickly, and without discrimination. Herman Deru stated that the South Sumatra Provincial Government continues to strive to improve the quality of services at Siti Fatimah Hospital as one of the main referral hospitals in South Sumatra. ‘Together with Deputy Governor Cik Ujang, we are ready to fully support the national health programme. The Vice President’s direct inspection encourages us to continue improving facilities and services for the community,’ said Herman Deru in a statement on Friday (17/7/2026). This directive motivates us to continue enhancing the quality of healthcare services in South Sumatra,’ said Cik Ujang. The working visit is expected to serve as an evaluation and encouragement for Siti Fatimah Hospital and all healthcare facilities in South Sumatra to continue improving the quality of services for the community, especially BPJS Kesehatan participants. The activity was also attended by members of the South Sumatra Provincial Leadership Coordination Forum, the Director of Siti Fatimah Hospital and staff, BPJS Kesehatan leaders, and a number of central and regional government officials.
