The award was presented by Social Affairs Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf to South Sulawesi Province on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Tagana Disaster Preparedness Cadre. The event, themed ‘22 Years of Service: One Synergy for the Nation’s Resilience’, took place at the Aneka Bhakti Building, Ministry of Social Affairs, Jakarta, some time ago.

South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman expressed gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved. The province earned this recognition through the cooperation of all stakeholders, including the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda) and the local disaster response teams in the field.

“Alhamdulillah, this award is the fruit of hard work and collaboration from all parties. From government apparatus, volunteers, to the community that works hand in hand in every disaster management process,” said Andi Sudirman in his statement on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

Andi Sudirman reiterated that this success is not solely the government’s achievement. The award from the Ministry of Social Affairs resulted from strengthened cross-sectoral synergy in South Sulawesi.

“Disaster management cannot be done alone. We continue to build a responsive system, from mitigation to recovery, so that the community can be better protected,” he explained.

Andi Sudirman also stated that this award will serve as motivation for the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to further enhance regional preparedness. Particularly in facing the potential disasters that often occur in several areas of South Sulawesi.

“This is not the end, but a driver of enthusiasm to work even better in serving the community, especially in emergency situations,” clarified Andi Sudirman.
