South Sulawesi Provincial Civil Servants Begin Komcad Training Programme
The South Sulawesi provincial government has begun implementing the Basic Military Training (Latsarmil) for the Reserve Component (Komcad), attended by thousands of Civil Servants (ASN) from 24 districts and cities over two months at Rindam XIV Hasanuddin in Gowa Regency.
“This involves 24 districts/cities; we selected those who truly meet the requirements because there was a selection process, and the maximum age is 35 years. This is a pilot, the first pioneer,” said South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman on Monday (30/3).
According to Andi Sudirman, this national programme is a pilot project for the entire country, following up on instructions from President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen the strategic reserve component.
“So South Sulawesi is the first to take steps to implement the president’s directive regarding the strategic reserve command,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, Gabriel Lema, said the reserve component training will be held for two months, providing material on national values.
“The duration is around 1.5 to 2 months. The material covers national character, but it is still adjusted to the functions and duties of civil servants,” said Gabriel.
The participants, according to Gabriel, will be trained by professional instructors from the Kodam ranks through Rindam, with briefings on discipline, teamwork, and building empathy. Thus, after the training, it is hoped that the participants will bring about changes in their way of thinking and working.
“What we hope for is a change in character, perspective, and responsibility towards the state,” he explained.
The training will run until 13 May 2026, with a total duration of around 45 days, and the core activities will begin after the opening.
