“Selection is the responsibility of the provincial government, where the candidates are the best representatives from regencies and cities. The final decision for the national level is made directly by the central selection committee present during the provincial selection,” said South Sulawesi Kesbangpol’s Bustanul.

It has been reported on social media that a high school student from Makassar was not selected for the national Paskibraka cadre. The candidate is alleged to have been disqualified due to discrimination.

Bustanul explained that the selection results fall under the authority of the central government committee. The central selection team comprises members from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Central DPPI, TNI, Polri, and the Presidential Military Secretariat (Setmilpres).

“If there is an allegation of revoking or replacing a selection, logically there should be an initial announcement followed by a revocation and a new announcement. In reality, no such announcement has been made,” he stated.

He also urged that any accusations must be supported by clear data and evidence, not mere narratives or unverified assumptions. Bustanul added that Paskibraka candidates are selected based on a series of selection results.

“All participants have equal opportunities and are assessed based on selection outcomes,” he continued.
