South OKU Police Establish DEKAT Kiosk for Community Dialogue
The South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police Resort has launched the DEKAT kiosk, an acronym for dedication, ethics, collaboration, action, and trustworthiness. The kiosk serves as a public social space and is open to the public.
South Sumatra Police Chief Irjen Sandi Nugroho has always emphasised that every regional unit should proactively implement the National Police Chief’s directives. The DEKAT kiosk is proof that the Indonesian National Police is present not only as a law enforcer but as a friend to all community groups,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, in a statement on Saturday (28/3/2026).
The DEKAT kiosk is described as the implementation of directives from National Police Chief Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo, carried out by the South Sumatra Police through the South OKU Police Resort. The presence of the DEKAT kiosk is expected to strengthen communication between the police and the public.
The inauguration of the DEKAT kiosk was led by the South OKU Police Chief, AKBP I Made Redi Hartana, at 09:00 WIB this morning. The DEKAT kiosk is located in a strategic area in front of the entrance to Griya 1 Permai Housing Estate, Muaradua, South OKU Regency.
“The DEKAT kiosk is the implementation of the National Police Chief’s directive to bring the police closer to the community. We want to build a strong emotional bond so that the public feels ownership and trust in the police,” explained Made.
The DEKAT kiosk is designed as a forum for police collaboration with community elements, such as base motorcycle taxi communities, labourers, students, youth leaders, and youth organisations. Residents can also enjoy coffee and tea, access WiFi, check blood pressure, inflate tyres, and use free self-service motorbike washing facilities at the DEKAT kiosk.
Following the establishment of the DEKAT kiosk, the South OKU Police Resort plans to operate it as a centre for absorbing public aspirations during ‘Jumat Curhat’. The South OKU Police Resort hopes that the DEKAT kiosk can serve as an inspiration for other regional police units.
