Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT TransJakarta has diverted several routes that pass along South Merdeka Street due to a road closure there. These include 1A (Pantai Maju–Balai Kota), 1P (Senen–Blok M), Corridor 2 (Pulogadung–Monas), as well as 6A and 6B (Ragunan–Balai Kota).

“The Jakarta Explorer tourist bus Route BW2: Monas Explorer is temporarily not operating to serve customers,” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at TransJakarta, when contacted in Jakarta on Sunday.

Ayu noted that route 1A is shortened to Pantai Maju–Monas, and in the Balai Kota-bound direction it does not serve the Balai Kota Stop. Meanwhile, route 1P toward Senen currently does not pass the IRTI Monas bus stop up to Gambir 2. Routes 6A and 6B are also shortened to Ragunan–Kebon Sirih, while Corridor 2 in the direction to Pulogadung does not serve the Balai Kota stop up to Gambir 2.

Additionally, routes 1H, 1N, 1R, 5M, 8M and 9D have detoured and are not serving the Blok F to Blok G bus stops due to traffic congestion around Jalan Jati Bunder to Blok F Tanah Abang.

Meanwhile, citing information from the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Management Center (TMC), there was a demonstration in front of the United States Embassy on South Merdeka Street and it shifted to in front of the Danareksa Building. Nevertheless, traffic flow around the area remained generally smooth.
