The Regent of South Lampung, Raditytio Egi Pratama, has ensured that the Red and White Fisherman Village (KNMP) programme, currently under construction in Kunjir Village, Rajabasa District, will provide a tangible impact on improving the welfare of local coastal communities. During an inspection of the KNMP construction progress in Kunjir Village, the Regent stated that the physical realisation of the project has reached almost 60 per cent and is targeted for full completion by next month.

“We have visited Kunjir Village to monitor the progress of the Red and White Fisherman Village construction. From what I have seen on the ground, progress has reached nearly 60 per cent. God willing, we target 100 per cent completion by next month,” said Radityo Egi Pratama in Kalianda on Sunday.

According to the Regent, the presence of this modern fishing area is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the fisheries sector while simultaneously improving the quality of life for coastal populations. “I am optimistic that the existence of this modern infrastructure will provide a concrete impact in boosting the welfare of fishing communities in the coastal areas of South Lampung,” he said.

“Through this programme from the President, we are confident we can assist the fishermen in Kunjir Village. The catches obtained in the future can achieve better quality, thereby increasing their selling price,” he added.

To ensure this outcome, he invited all elements of society to work together in overseeing the project so that it is completed on time and its benefits can be immediately enjoyed by coastal residents. He also requested prayers and support to ensure the development proceeds according to plan and delivers positive impacts to the people of Kunjir Village.

The Regent explained that South Lampung Regency is one of the priority regions in Indonesia for the implementation of this flagship programme by President Prabowo Subianto. “The central government’s commitment to South Lampung is quite massive. In addition to Kunjir Village, similar KNMP sites have been established in Ketapang Village, Ketapang District, and Bandar Agung Village, Sragi District, with plans for a follow-up in Banding Village, Rajabasa District,” he concluded.
